The three directors will talk about their work, process and challenges, and give us an exclusive peek at footage from their upcoming films and TV shows.

Aleeza Chanowitz

Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Aleeza immigrated to Israel in 2011. A graduate of the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School. Aleeza’s first short film, “Mushkie”, was screened at the 2016 Berlinale. Her final-year project, “Shabbos Kallah”, won four international awards. These days, Aleeza is busy developing a play for Gesher Theater, a feature film with Green Productions, and a TV series for HOT. Won first place at the 2021 International Pitching Forum at Haifa Film Festival. Aleeza portrayedAlisa, the “lone soldier” in the hit TV series “HaMefakedet” (“Dismissed”), and once even got a free drink when the bartender recognized her!

Shiri Nevo Fridental

Raised in Kiryat Bialik, studied Law at Tel Aviv University, interned at Tel Aviv District Court and worked as a prosecutor for the State Attorney office, among other positions. After working as a lawyer for several years, Shiri pivoted to film studies at Minshar School of Art. “The Prosecution” is her final-year project. Her first feature film, “Hanging by a Thread” (working title) is now in advanced stages of editing. The film participated in the Sam Spiegel International Film Lab and won the International Pitching Forum at Haifa Film Festival.

Ma’ayan Rypp

Raised in Tel Aviv. A graduate of Tel Aviv University Film School. Her short films “Itch” and “Any Little Thing” were screened at numerous film festivals, among them Tirana, Palm Springs and Raindance. Her final-year project, “Martha Must Fly”, was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Cinefondation competition and won several awards, including the “Promising Filmmaker” award at the International Women`s Film Festival In Rehovot. Her first feature film, “The Other Widow”, was written at the Cannes Festival’s residency program in Paris. The film was made with the support of the Israel Film Fund, the CNC and the Ile-de-France Film & Audiovisual Fund, and is now being edited. In the past few years, Ma’ayan has been working in the field of art design for films and TV shows.
