Student Film Competition

The Student Film Competition provides a platform for the fresh and exciting voices of the next generation of female filmmakers from Israel’s leading film schools: Sam Spiegel, Tel Aviv University, Bezalel, Minshar, Ma’aleh, Shenkar, and Sapir College.
This year, the competition will be presented in three diverse programs, featuring narrative, documentary, animation, and docu-animation films that explore personal, social, and artistic stories. Each film offers a fresh and unique perspective, bringing the future generation of women filmmakers to the screen.
Competition prizes are sponsored by: Kan 11, The Makor Foundation for Cinema and Television, and The Israeli Directors Guild.

Judges

Tal Moskovitz
Tal Moskovitz is a young film producer and a graduate of the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School. She is the co-founder of the independent production company Daizy Films.
From the very beginning of her career, Tal has established a distinct and critical voice, viewing cinema as a social and cultural tool for raising awareness and driving change.
Her production credits include Passive Procedure, Shehecheyanu, and Shadow of the Mountain — winner of the Ophir Award (the Israeli Academy Award).

Zohar Behrendt
Zohar is an independent filmmaker, director, and content editor in various television productions. Her documentary films Nurith Aviv: A Woman with a Camera and Every Tuesday at Five have been screened at leading film festivals in Israel and abroad.
She holds a BA in Philosophy from the Hebrew University and an MFA in Film and Television from Tel Aviv University, and currently teaches at Kaye College in Be’er Sheva.
